If you enjoy museums, the Fitzwilliam Museum has a wonderfully varied collection, from mummies to modern art. The university also has a large number of specialized museums, though their opening times are sometimes restricted. The museum at the Scott Polar Research Institute is a personal favourite.

All the colleges have interesting and beautiful buildings, but we especially recommend the Wren Library at Trinity College with its collection of unique books and manuscripts.

And you mustn’t leave Cambridge without seeing King’s College Chapel, a building that is truly and unfailingly awe-inspiring.
